The entire original Halloween series (Michael Myers, that is, 1, 2, 4, and 5) is really the best. I love them all. But something about the second in the series does something a little bit different for me.
Maybe it’s the hospital. Maybe it’s because Laurie is drugged and that makes it that much more surreal for her. Maybe it’s the utter lack of help from all the people who are supposed to protect her (nurses, security, even the Marshal). I can’t explain it, but it’s much spookier than the first. Hospitals scare people to begin with, but the dark halls and lighthearted Halloween decorations and lack of people milling about is super chilling. I just loved the therapy tub scene too. So great.
The whole thing was just so great.
